Home Care support | Become a Support Worker
Our Support Workers help Service Users to remain living independently within their own homes. The support we offer them ranges from home help and companionship to personal care. Our care visits vary in length from 15 minutes upwards, although most are 30 minutes to an hour long. We assist many of our Service Users at multiple times during the day. Therefore a typical day at work for us involves:
Morning (from 7am) -
Assist Service Users to get up and out of bed, washed and dressed, prepare breakfast, prompt or administer medication. Assistance with toileting may also be required for some Service Users.
Lunch -
Prepare a hot meal and drink. Prompt or administer medication, provide companionship and maybe assist with some household tasks.
Tea Time -
Make a hot drink and a light snack, prompt or administer medication. Perhaps take the Service User on an outing, shopping or to an appointment.
Evening (up to 10pm) -
Prepare a meal or light snack and drink, prompt or administer medication and assist the Service User to get ready for bed.
Support Workers must also have a valid driving licence and their own car with a valid MOT and correct insurance.
